2026 Healthiest State Annual Awards Applications and Nominations Now Open
The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative announced the opening of nominations and applications for the 2026 Healthiest State Annual Awards, a statewide recognition honoring four individuals who are making a meaningful impact on the physical, social, and mental well‑being of Iowans.
Unlike previous years, the 2026 awards will focus exclusively on individuals from any sector including schools, workplaces, communities and organizations, whose leadership, compassion, and commitment are helping create a healthier Iowa. Applications are open as of Monday, March 30, and will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8.
“These awards are about people — the individuals who show up every day to improve lives and strengthen communities,” said Jami Haberl, executive director of the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative. “By celebrating their stories, we hope to inspire others across Iowa to take action and contribute to a healthier future for our state.”

A special award presented by the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative
Promotion through media and social channels
Opportunities to share their story and inspire others across Iowa
Community members, colleagues, and organizations are encouraged to nominate individuals whose work or volunteer efforts demonstrate a strong commitment to health and well‑being whether in workplaces, schools, health care, nonprofit organizations, or local communities.
