Healthiest State Initiative Welcomes New Leadership

The Healthiest State Initiative is pleased to welcome April Schmaltz of Delta Dental of Iowa to its Board of Directors.

April Schmaltz serves as the interim co-CEO and senior vice president, sales and marketing for Delta Dental of Iowa. In her role, she provides executive leadership and oversees the health and wellness company’s strategic priorities. April received a Master of Business Administration degree from Iowa State University and has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and leadership roles.

“We are excited to add April’s expertise to the Board of Directors,” said Jami Haberl, executive director of the Healthiest State Initiative. “Her leadership and experience in marketing and the healthcare industry will be invaluable in our effort to engage with community partners and Iowans across the state.”

April Schmaltz will be replacing long time board member and past board president, Jeff Russell. The Healthiest State Initiative would like to thank Jeff for his years of service, dedication, and passion for our programs and mission.
