October is Healthiest State Month!

Each year throughout October, schools, communities, early care programs, workplaces and health care clinics celebrate 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count during Healthiest State Month! Every week we will highlight one number of 5-2-1-0 with resources, giveaways, events, and more on social media!

Healthiest State Month Weekly Schedule:

Each week of Healthiest State Month focuses on a different 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! habit:

Week 1

Focus on getting 1 hour of physical activity each day. Participate in the Healthiest State Annual Walk.

Week 2

Focus on eating 5 fruits or vegetables each day. 

Week 3

Focus on 2 hours or less of screen time each day. Reduce screen time by reading a book or participate in a program that doesn't require a screen.

Week 4

Focus on drinking 0 sugary beverages and more water each day. Water is fuel for your body!  To keep your body running smoothly, drink plenty of water throughout the day!

Register as a 5-2-1-0 Site!

Becoming a 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! Registered Site is free and easy. The process gives your site an opportunity to evaluate your policies, systems and environment to support a healthy lifestyle.

In addition, registering gives your site access to exclusive resources, recognition and technical assistance.

Order Materials

5-2-1-0 Shirts, bags, water bottles, and stickers are available to help you spread the word about 5-2-1-0 and get your kids and parents excited!

That’s not all! Posters, brochures, and parent guides are available for free to decorate and educate parents and kids on what 5-2-1-0 stands for.
