Who developed 5-2-1-0?

5-2-1-0 was developed by the Maine Youth Overweight Collaborative (MYOC) in 2004, which was adapted from a Massachusetts health promotion campaign called Jump Up and Go. Key leaders at MYOC then brought the message to Let’s Go! In 2006, where it was disseminated to multiple settings as an integral component of the program. The Iowa Department of Public Health, United Way of Central Iowa and the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative launched the Iowa program in 2017. 

Is 5-2-1-0 tradmarked?

No, 5-2-1-0 is not trademarked. It has been commonly used for so many years now that it is in the public domain, meaning anyone can use it.

Can I use the 5-2-1-0 message in my community?

Yes! We encourage you to adopt the message or adapt it for your local needs. A champion toolkit is available with specific tools for you to distribute the message within your community. 

Can I use 5-2-1-0 graphics?

Yes! We have various 5-2-1-0 graphics you can use and they are accessible for download here, simply choose a graphic and once it opens, right click and chose “Save as”. When using 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count graphics, we ask that you credit Healthy Choices Count in the following way: “This graphic is adopted from Healthy Choices Count!”

Can I use materials, such as the resources in the toolkit?

Yes! Please feel free to use and distribute any of our materials. You can download and print the materials from the website for free. Materials are not for re-sale. Materials may not be altered in any way. 

Can I add my logo to your materials? I.e. Can we co-brand?

Yes! Please feel free to add your logo to any of our existing handouts. We do not distribute original design files but high-resolution PDFs are available to download for free. You’ll need special software, such as Adobe Professional, to insert your logo. Please do not manipulate content or remove the Healthy Choices Count! logo and website. 

Can I order copies of the brochures and/or posters?
