ONE AWESOME WAY TO STAY HEALTHY! 

Thank you to everyone who celebrated 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! during October. Each week during the month focused on one of the healthy habits featured in 5-2-1-0.

PARTICIPATE: 4 ways to celebrate Healthiest State Month

Feel free to use resources found in the celebration toolkits and on the Additional Resources year-round at your school, child care site, health care clinic or workplace!

1 hour of physical activity 

Week 1

Focus on getting 1 hour of physical activity each day. Participate in the 9th Annual Healthiest State Walk on October 2.

5 or more fruits and veggies 

Week 2

Focus on eating 5 fruits or vegetables each day.  Participate in Local Foods Day, sponsored by Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

2 hours or less of screen time 

Week 3

Focus on 2 hours or less of screen time each day. Reduce screen time by reading a book or participate in a program that doesn't require a screen.

0 sugary drinks

Week 4

Focus on drinking 0 sugary beverages and more water each day. Water is fuel for your body!  To keep your body running smoothly, drink plenty of water throughout the day!
