Make It OK - Linn County, in partnership with the Cedar Rapids MedQuarter, is pleased to present Make It OK: Care for the Mental Health Providers.
Mental health providers have been a critical support to members of our community as we have faced COVID, social uprising and the Derecho. While supporting our community, they may also have been supporting coworkers, neighbors, and family members while also potentially being impacted themselves. As we further our work to Make It OK to reduce stigma, openly talk about mental illness and assist individuals in getting help, it is important that we pause, recognize and ensure the health of mental health providers. This session will be led by Dr. Jim Coyle, Grief Care & Community Outreach Specialist who has been part of national care provider response teams deployed to communities highly impacted by COVID to provide relief for healthcare teams and Christy Aquino, UnityPoint Health EAP Coordinator who has assisted and supported team members through COVID response and the Derecho.
Areas of focus include:
- Mental health provider stressors
- Identifying with and coping with the stressors
- The impact of the mental health provider “Game Face” in serving others
- Psychological PPE
