Bike ride to benefit the Des Moines Botanical Center.
Leave the aerodynamic shorts and jerseys at home. Pedal to Petals isn’t a race; it’s a leisurely ride around Des Moines to enjoy the sights of our city, our natural flora and a few fantastic gardens. The ride begins and ends at Des Moines Botanical Center. We’ll have scenic routes of 8.3, 20.5 and 30+miles, primarily on trails within Greater Des Moines.
Official Pedal to Petals rest stops will offer refreshments, gardening advice and information from botanical experts. The 30+ mile route will include a tour of a fabulous private garden, with home-and-garden experts on hand to provide information about rain gardens, rain barrels, water gardens, permeable patio paving, native plants and more.
