Healthiest State Initiative accepting award applications

The Healthiest State Initiative is now accepting nominations to recognize Iowa workplaces, schools, communities and individuals for advancing efforts to improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of Iowans.

The six categories for the Healthiest State Initiative awards include:

  • Small Workplace (less than 49 employees)
  • Large Workplace (more than 50 employees)
  • Small K-12 Schools (less than 999 students)
  • Large K-12 Schools (more than 1,000 students)
  • Community
  • Individual 

Three finalists for each category will be announced in early 2018, with one winner being recognized at the Annual Awards event on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Hy-Vee’s Ron Pearson Event Center. The winners will be granted a monetary gift to continue efforts that improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of their employees, students or citizens.
