Applications open for Healthiest State Awards

Nominate a workplace, school, community or individual

The Healthiest State Initiative is now accepting nominations to recognize Iowa workplaces, educational institutions (schools, child care centers and out-of-school programs), communities and individuals for advancing efforts to improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of Iowans.

The categories for the Healthiest State Initiative Awards include:

Finalists will be announced early next year, with one winner in each category being recognized at the annual Healthiest State Awards event on February 7, 2019, at Hy-Vee’s Ron Pearson Event Center in West Des Moines.

“The Healthiest State Awards are a way to showcase the great work that is being done to create healthier environments across Iowa,” said Jami Haberl, executive director for the Healthiest State Initiative.

The winners will be granted a monetary gift to continue health and wellness efforts for their employees, students or citizens. The Healthiest State Awards are sponsored by Hy-Vee, Inc. and Wellmark.
