MAY IS BIKE MONTH

Here's how you can celebrate in Iowa

Riding a bicycle is a form of exercise that can be enjoyed by Iowans of all ages. It is a low-impact workout that strengthens a variety of muscles and increases stamina and cardiovascular fitness.

There's no better time to hop on your bike than May because it's Bike Month!

The Des Moines Street Collective hosts weekly City Rides. Join one in May to celebrate Bike Month.

Not only is biking good for your health, it is also an efficient and environmentally-friendly form of transportation (National Bike to Work Week is May 13–19 and Bike to Work Day is May 17) and a source of recreation. Iowa features more than 1,800 miles of trail which allows cyclists to bike to destinations and enjoy scenery along the way.
