5-A-Day Fruit & Veggie Bands

5-A-Day Fruit & Veggie Bands are a great reminder for kids to eat five fruits and vegetables every day.

You can make them as an educational activity or as a cost-effective incentive item for your 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! efforts.

Step 1: Print the template. You can find it here.

Print and then cut along the dotted lines. The template looks like this:


Step 2: Order your bands

There are good deals on jelly bracelets from Oriental Trading or Amazon, but you can use any kind of bracelets you want. You'll need five for each set.


Step 3: Assemble!

Grab some friends and put the bands together. Mix and match the colors! Use a stapler to assemble the paper instructions.

How to use 5-A-Day Fruit & Veggie Bands:

  • Put all five bands on the RIGHT wrist each morning.
  • Each time you eat a serving of fruit or vegetable, move one band to the LEFT wrist.
  • The goal is to have all five bracelets on the LEFT wrist by the end of the day!
